Livermore Associates provided Structural Engineering Design Services for a three- level structural steel platform to support the toner manufacturing process equipment. Individual platforms for the pulverization/classification process and extrusion process are connected by a bridge at the second level.
Coordination of process equipment and piping was critical in developing the platform layouts. Seismic anchorage of all process equipment and piping was provided. Lateral force resisting system for the platform is steel moment resisting frames.
An automated material lift is incorporated into the design of the extrusion platform. Depth of platform framing members and platform floor-to-floor elevations were driven by equipment and process piping space requirements. An electrical control room was provided at the ground floor of the platform.
